At least 6 persons have lost their lives and more than 50 got serious injuries following a mosque’s roof collapse occurred in Rehmat Colony of Mian Channu sub-district of Pakistan’s Punjab province.
According to details, the Quran Khawani for late Maulana Rab Nawaz Abid was being held at Jamia-tul-Hunain in Rehmant Colony when roof of the hall collapsed burying around 100 people under the rubble.
Six persons including a woman died while more than 50 persons injured in the collapse. The rescue teams pulled the survivors from the rubble and shifted the injured to Tehsil Headquarter Hospital.
According to sources, the doctors were absent from their duties due to which families of the injured faced trouble however, after their protest the doctors came and started treatment of the wounded.
Meanwhile, the injured persons faced trouble during treatment due to load shedding while the hospital management did not make alternative arrangements despite availability of the generator.
Six persons in critical condition were referred to Nishtar Hospital Multan.
